Frequently asked questions
Who is Lorna Byrne?
Lorna Byrne has been seeing and talking to angels since she was a baby. With her family reared she decided to talk openly for the first time about what she has seen and learnt. This decision led to her book Angels in my hair - first published in May 2008 - which has become an international bestseller.
What makes her different from other people who say they see angels?
She physically sees angels – just as you or I see a person sitting at the table in front of us. This is extremely unusual.
She sees angels all day, every day, and has done since she was a baby.
Lorna has severe dyslexia and has never read a book in her life. The angels have been her teachers. All the information that she shares comes directly from the angels and God, rather than being filtered through other sources.
Why is her book creating such a stir?
The secret of Angels in my hair’s success lies in the hope that people are drawing form it. They are realizing that they are not alone, that their Guardian angel is always there waiting to help them, and all they have to do is ask.
How big a success is it?
(last updated Sept 2009)
Lorna Byrne’s Angels in my hair has been at number 1 in Ireland for 21 weeks (Nielsen bookscan paperback nonfiction), 7 weeks in the Sunday best times top ten, published by Random House in the states after a bidding war and a six figure sum, and international rights sold for 45 countries including places like Korea and Japan. Hollywood has made several offers for the story.
What does she actually see?
There has never been a day when Lorna Byrne has not seen an angel – she sees them every day. She sees the light of everyone’s Guardian Angel behind them – sometimes this light opens up and she is shown more. In addition to Guardian angels she sees other angels – which she frequently calls teacher angels, and some special angels who have become her friends.
In addition to angels Lorna is often shown spirits of people who have died.
What do the angels she sees look like?
Lorna says every angel is unique – but they are all magnificently beautiful. Some angels appear with wings, some not Angels may appear as a male or female, and seem to be able to change this at will. They are in fact neither male nor female. They take on an appearance which helps the communication they want to give – so the Angel of Mothers Love, who she talk about in my book Angels in my hair, is round like the sun and enormous in size. Her wings are wrapped around her but opened out, a little like a mother hen. Her arms are always ready to embrace you in a big hug.
