COPING WITH LOSS

Whenever I pass a graveyard and look in, I see a lot of Angels. If there is a funeral there could be thousands of Angels comforting the mourners, but even when there is only one person in the graveyard there will be lots of Angels there also.

If you feel the presence of the one you love who has died, don’t doubt it. Frequently when someone dies, their soul will come back accompanied by Angels to help those left behind.

Sometimes people are so numbed by grief that they feel they have lost all touch with the person who has died. When this happens the Angels and the spirit of the person who has died may make contact via someone else. It might be another family member, or it could be a complete stranger.  Somebody may give you their favourite flowers, hum their favourite music or say something that sounds exactly like what they would have said.

When this happens, don’t doubt that it is your loved one trying to comfort you form the other side. Don’t dismiss - as many do - these precious moments as imagination.

My experience of this wisdom in action:

I met a mother who had lost a much loved adult son in a car crash. She talked of her son, how he had been full of life and energy. She couldn’t understand why God took him. She was grief stricken even though it was now a few years since he had been killed.

She asked me if I would ask God and the Angels to give her a sign so that she would know her son was okay.

About six months later she rang and thanked me. She believed she had got her sign. A photo of her son had suddenly turned up. Everyone in the family had forgotten the existence of this photo, and they all swore that it had not previously been in the box where it was found.

The photo is now in a frame on her mantelpiece.

“More importantly,” she said. “I’m now dreaming of him, which I wasn’t before and in my dreams he always looks well and happy. I can feel his presence beside me when I’m in the garden.

"I still miss him so much," she told me, "but now I can cope; now I can let him go, because I know that he’s there beside me.”
